Primary biliary cholangitis stage 1: Florid duct lesion and portal hepatitis

A bile duct (arrow) is surrounded by lymphocytes and histiocytes. The bile duct has an irregular contour due to the basement membrane having been breached by inflammatory cells and partially destroyed. Note the dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate occupying almost the entire portal tract.
