Intraoperative hemodynamic stability during resection of a catecholamine-secreting tumor with adequate alpha blockade

Intraoperative hemodynamic stability during resection of a catecholamine-secreting tumor with adequate alpha blockade
Intraoperative hemodynamic stability during resection of a catecholamine-secreting tumor is the goal of preoperative pharmacologic blockade. Depicted is the operative record of vital signs for an adult patient who underwent resection of a large functional paraganglioma located at the organ of Zuckerkandl. The anesthesiologist's notations document that throughout induction, mobilization of the tumor, resection and extubation, the heart rate remained stable at 84-98 and systolic blood pressure remained stable at 90-122.
