The graph shows the incidence of ITP in females (blue bars) and males (gray bars) in different age groups, per 10,000 individuals per year.
  • Children – The incidence of ITP is higher in children than adults and may be higher in boys than in girls.
  • Adults – Among adults, the incidence increases with age. The incidence is higher in women than in men at younger ages. In adults >60 years, the incidence is the same in women and men.
