Micrograph ganglioneuroma

(A) Photomicrograph of a tumor that was removed from the L2-3 nerve root. The spindle cells and collagenous background resemble neurofibroma. However, several multinucleated, dysplastic ganglion cells can be seen interspersed amidst the neurofibromatous background (arrows). Therefore, this tumor would be considered a ganglioneuroma.
