Calcitonin reduces vertebral fractures

Change in the SDI (with a higher value reflecting more deformity) in 72 postmenopausal patients with osteoporosis treated with calcium alone or with nasal salmon calcitonin. There was less deformity in the calcitonin group (p<0.001).
