Flow cytometric analysis for mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease

Whole blood peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were stained with antibodies to IFN-gamma-R1 or IL-12-R-beta-1, respectively (top panels). Loss of these proteins is seen in mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial diseases.
Bottom panels represent defective phosphorylation of STAT1 in response to IFN-gamma (left) or STAT4 in response to IL-12 (right).
