Right atrium and appendage on transesophageal echocardiogram

Horizontal (0º) imaging plane with advancement of the probe towards the gastroesophageal junction with slight anterior rotation demonstrates the right atrium (RA) and right atrial appendage (RAA, panel A). In panel B, the probe is rotated posteriorly and the RA and coronary sinus (CS) are seen. With further advancement of the probe (panel C), the right ventricle (RV) and tricuspid valve (TV) are seen.
