Parkinson disease presymptomatic and symptomatic phases. (Panel A) The presymptomatic phase is marked by the appearance of Lewy neurites/bodies in the brains of asymptomatic persons. In the symptomatic phase, the individual neuropathologic threshold is exceeded (black arrow).
