Autoadsorption method to detect an alloantibody in the presence of an autoantibody

Autoadsorption can be used to remove an autoantibody from the recipient's plasma, provided the patient has not been transfused in the prior three months and has a hemoglobin >8 g/dL. For patients who have been transfused in the prior three months or whose hemoglobin is ≤8 g/dL, alloadsorption can be used.
