Echocardiogram of D-transposition of the great arteries
Echocardiogram of D-transposition of the great arteries. Subcostal short-axis view demonstrates the anteriorly positioned RV giving rise to the AO. The PA is posteriorly related to the AO and arises from the left ventricle. The AO is identified as the vessel that gives rise to the head and neck vessels as well as the coronary arteries, while the PA branches into the right and left PAs. Mixing of blood between the 2 parallel circuits occurs through the PDA.
