Extension olecranon injury

(A) Fracture with the elbow extended. If the elbow is extended when the direct blow occurs to the posterior aspect, an oblique or transverse fracture occurs (arrows).
(B) With the elbow extended, the initial failure is in the anterior articular surface (arrows).
