Pulse analysis of plasma ACTH in Cushing's disease

Analysis of specimens sampled at 10-minute intervals for 24 hours in control subjects (left 4 panels) and patients with Cushing's disease (right 4 panels) reveals that in Cushing's disease, the amplitude and duration, but not the frequency of ACTH secretory episodes are increased.

ACTH: corticotropin.
