Maylard incision^[1]

Transverse muscle-cutting incision. (A) The incision of the rectus sheath is extended laterally to the iliac spine to expose the rectus muscle. The rectus muscles are cut transversely. (B) The cut edges of the muscles are sutured to the rectus sheath. The ligated epigastric vessels and exposed transversalis fascia are shown. The transversalis fascia and peritoneum are incised transversely. The urachus is ligated.
