This intubated newborn infant with the prenatal diagnosis of a left chest mass shows classic findings of a congenital diaphragmatic hernia

There are air-filled bowel loops in the left chest causing mass effect and mediastinal shift towards the right. The nasogastric tube terminates in the left thoracic stomach. The umbilical venous catheter takes an atypical course because the liver is partially herniated into the left chest.
