Intraventricular hemorrhage from a ruptured cavernous malformation

Intraventricular hemorrhage from a ruptured cavernous malformation
Noncontrast head CT in sagittal (A) and transverse axial (B) planes shows focal intraparenchymal hematoma in the cerebellar vermis (arrow) and hemorrhage within fourth, third, and lateral ventricles. Follow-up study after resolution of IVH in sagittal (C) and transverse axial (D) planes demonstrates multifocal calcifications (circles) in vermian lesion consistent with cavernous malformation. Ventriculostomy is noted in lateral ventricle (dashed arrow).
CT: computed tomography; IVH: intraventricular hemorrhage.
