Single anastomosis duodenoileal bypass with gastric sleeve (SADI-S)
Single anastomosis duodenoileal bypass with gastric sleeve (SADI-S)
Single anastomosis duodenoileal bypass with gastric sleeve ("SADI-S") is a type of weight loss surgery. The doctor closes off part of the stomach, leaving only a small pouch for food. Then, they connect the stomach pouch, including the "pylorus" valve at the end of the stomach, to the end part of the small intestine. This lets food "bypass," or go around, part of the stomach and small intestine. With SADI-S, the stomach pouch is connected to a loop of undivided small intestine.
