Outcome rates calculated for maternal primary infection in any trimester. Symptoms at birth included CNS and non-CNS anomalies on postnatal imaging, elevated liver enzymes, thrombocytopenia, and/or microcephaly.

CMV: cytomegalovirus; AF: amniotic fluid; PCR: polymerase chain reaction; CNS: central nervous system; SNHL: sensorineural hearing loss; US: ultrasound; MRI: magnetic resonance imaging.
