Management of nonscalp seborrheic dermatitis in adolescents and adults

Management of nonscalp seborrheic dermatitis in adolescents and adults

* Disease severity has not been strictly defined. Mild seborrheic dermatitis of nonscalp areas usually presents with minimal erythema and fine scaling. Moderate to severe disease presents with intense erythema with greasy looking scales and pruritus. Refer to UpToDate topics on seborrheic dermatitis in adolescents and adults for more detail.

¶ Once complete clearance is achieved, treatment can be gradually stopped. In case of relapse, restart daily treatment based on severity.
