Z-plasty for surgical treatment of hypertrophic scar

A 30-year-old female patient developed a hypertrophic scar on her forearm after a vein was taken for another surgery. Since the scar was narrow, it could be resected completely. Z-plasties were then placed to release tension. Over the next year, the scar matured.
