Chondrosarcoma

15-year-old with pathologically proven cerebral chondrosarcoma. Transverse axial T2-weighted MRI (A) shows a large, bilobed bioccipital hypointense mass associated with vasogenic edema that compresses and displaces the left ventricular atrium. On both T2*-weighted gradient echo (B) and T1-weighted (C) images, areas of hypointense signal from the chondroid tumor matrix are demonstrated in the right occipital part of the mass (arrows). Transverse axial T1-weighted (D) and postcontrast T1-weighted images in transverse axial (E) and coronal (F) planes show marked but heterogeneous enhancement.
