Neuroimaging features of paraspinal ganglioneuroma

Neuroimaging features of paraspinal ganglioneuroma
Four-year-old with a history of intermittent, vague abdominal and back pain worsening over the previous few months. (A) Frontal radiograph shows a right paraspinal mass (arrows) at the level of T11-T12. (B) Coronal and (C) transverse-axial T1-weighted; (D) coronal and (E) transverse-axial T2-weighted; and (F) transverse-axial, postcontrast, fat-saturated T1-weighted MRIs show the T2-hyperintense and intensely enhancing extradural mass (thick arrows). Differential diagnosis includes ganglioneuroma and neuroblastoma. Pathology at the time of resection showed a ganglioneuroma.
MRI: magnetic resonance imaging.
