Position of the cords of the brachial plexus around the axillary artery

When performing an infraclavicular brachial plexus block it may be useful to think of the axillary artery as the center of a clock face, with the medial, posterior, and lateral cords at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, respectively.
