Arginine vasopressin resistance was previously called nephrogenic diabetes insipidus; arginine vasopressin deficiency was previously called central diabetes insipidus.

As the diagnostic thresholds for copeptin have not been established in pregnancy, this algorithm is not intended for use in pregnant patients.
