BPVT: Echocardiography (short axis)

Typical appearance of BPVT on TEE. In this patient, the aortic prosthetic valve mean gradient increased to 46 mmHg at 2 years after surgical implantation. TEE short-axis images show relative sparing of the central cusp edges, but overall opening of the valve is reduced. No discrete thrombotic mass is identified.
