Management of AIS

This algorithm describes management of AIS. This management algorithm was developed by the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and endorsed by the ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus process.

AIS: adenocarcinoma in situ; ECC: endocervical curettage; HPV: human papillomavirus; ASCCP: American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
* For patients with AIS and persistent positive margins for whom additional excisional procedures are not feasible, either simple or modified radical hysterectomy is acceptable.
¶ Those desiring fertility-sparing management: cotesting with endocervical sampling.
