Single-fang mark after a massasauga rattlesnake bite

A professional herpetologist was bitten when a massasauga rattlesnake (Sistrurus catenatus) turned back up a snake hook that was too short. Note the single fang mark located near the proximal interphalangeal joint of the pointer finger.
