Autoamputation of digits in a female MCTD patient

This 30-year-old Asian female with a diagnosis of MCTD developed a small, painful area of black discoloration over the tip of her left index finger that gradually increased and underwent autoamputation after two months. Some four months later she developed similar changes in her right index and middle fingers.
