MRI in reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS): Resolving abnormalities

MRI in reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS): Resolving abnormalities
(A) MRI was obtained one day following CT, and T2-weighted image shows hyperintensity in the white matter of the occipital lobes.
(B) FLAIR image obtained more rostrally shows multifocal areas of hyperintensity both posteriorly and anteriorly; note that on the FLAIR image, the hyperintensity involves the gray as well as the white matter.
Follow-up study obtained two weeks later shows resolution of the hyperintense lesions on T2-weighted (C) and FLAIR (D) images.
MRI: magnetic resonance imaging; CT: computed tomography; FLAIR: fluid-attenuated inversion recovery.
