MRI in reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS)
MRI in reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS)
(A) MRI was obtained one day following CT, and T2-weighted image shows hyperintensity in the white matter of the occipital lobes. (B) FLAIR image obtained more rostrally shows multifocal areas of hyperintensity both posteriorly and anteriorly; note that on the FLAIR image, the hyperintensity involves the gray as well as the white matter. (C) DWI shows slight hyperintensity within the hyperintense regions seen on FLAIR image. (D) The corresponding ADC map shows hyperintensity in these regions, suggestive of facilitated water diffusion and vasogenic edema.
