Components of a scavenging system

Diagram of the components of the waste anesthetic gas disposal system (commonly termed the scavenger system) of an anesthesia machine. This system prevents excessive positive or negative pressure at the outlet of the exhaust valves of the anesthesia machine, and also prevents venting of waste anesthetic gases into the operating room.
