Port placement for laparoscopic or robotic gastrectomy

Minimally invasive gastrectomy can be performed with five ports, including three 12-mm ports and two either 8-mm (for robotic surgery) or 5-mm (for laparoscopic surgery) ports. We position the central 12-mm (camera) port at or just above the level of the umbilicus, depending upon the length of the torso.
