Usual and reverse orientation for patient placement on operating table
The patient may be placed on the operating table in reverse orientation (ie, head placed at the foot of the table), as shown in figure B in this graphic. Weight limits are lower in reverse orientation because the patient’s weight is no longer centered over the base, and the risk of tipping is increased.
