Thoracoscopic esophageal leiomyomectomy

The patient presented here is a 36-year-old woman who presented with three months of upper abdominal discomfort. A chest radiograph showed a retrocardiac mass. The video shows the initial endoscopic and radiologic evaluation of the submucosal tumor, followed by thoracoscopic enucleation, assessment, and confirmation of the integrity of the esophageal mucosa after tumor removal, and closure of the overlying esophageal muscle layers.
