Midline dehiscence healed with negative pressure wound therapy

These pictures are of a 60-year-old woman with a previously infected abdominal wall wound and failed hernia repair. The wound was located in the midline portion of a large pannus. It was debrided but not repaired due to medical comorbidities. After medical optimization, a negative pressure wound therapy device was placed with a sponge placed over the hernia sac. The area healed in by secondary intention over a period of 12 weeks.
