(A) A 2 to 3 cm fenestration is made beneath the isthmic portion of tube either with scissors or bluntly with a hemostat.
(B) Ligation of the tube. Pulling up on the suture during ligation or during transection of the tube can shear the tube off the underlying mesentery, resulting in troublesome bleeding.
(C) Portion of tube removed.
