Pronator compression test

Pronator compression test
The pronator compression test is performed by having the examiner place pressure with the thumb over the pronator teres muscles in both forearms as shown for a full 30 seconds or less if symptoms are elicited. A positive test consists of the occurrence of paresthesias in the distributions of the median nerve (thumb, pointer, middle, and half of the ring fingers) on the affected side with no symptoms in the uninvolved arm.
