Drops:Instill 1 to 2 drops in affected eye(s) 3 to 4 times daily; to obtain rapid relief in acute conditions, instill 1 to 2 drops every 1 to 2 hours (generally for the first 2 to 3 days).
Ointment: Apply 2 to 3 applications in affected eye(s) daily; for continued effect if drops are used during the day, apply at bedtime.

Cardiovascular (with high doses): Cardiac arrhythmia, increased blood pressure, palpitations, tachycardia

Ophthalmic: Blurred vision
Respiratory: Rhinorrhea, sneezing, stinging sensation of the nose
Known hypersensitivity to framycetin, other aminoglycosides antibiotics, or any component of the formulation
Because of similarities in chemical structure and/or pharmacologic actions, the possibility of cross-sensitivity may exist with other Streptomyces-derived antibiotics (eg, neomycin, paromomycin, kanamycin)
Concerns related to adverse effects:
• Superinfection: Prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection.
Special populations:
• Contact lens wearers: Formulation contains benzalkonium chloride, which may be absorbed by soft contact lenses; contact lenses should not be worn during treatment of ophthalmologic infections.
